There are specific types of electrical hand tools for a specific electrical job. We have the pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, and testers, just to name a few.   

The Do-It-Yourself movement have become so popular that we have learned to do certain jobs on our own especially around the house. We know that home improvement requires the use of different hand tools.

Most electrical wirings are easy to fix when you use electrical hand tools. Using these basic hand tools is easy just as long as you follow the instructions in the accompanying user manual.

Pliers – Pliers are electrical hand tools you can use to cut-off wires. There are different types of pliers, the linesman pliers and the long-nose pliers. Linesman pliers are used to cut-off thick heavy wires and cables. They are also used in twisting wire-ends together. Long-nose pliers are usually used to make loops at the wire ends. Screwdrivers – These are the most common electrical hand tools in most households but they are very important. They are used to screw or tighten and unscrew or loosen screws.

Wire Stripper – a wire stripper is an electrical hand tool that you can use to remove plastic or rubber insulation when you connect the wires to devices.

Allen Wrench Set – Allen wrenches are electrical hand tools used to tighten or loosen allen-headed screws.

Circuit Tester – A circuit tester is an electrical hand tool that is used to test the presence of electricity.

Continuity Tester – This is an electrical hand tool which is used to test if the electrical circuits are closed or open.

When you buy electrical hand tools, you have to make sure you buy the best quality tools. You have to keep in mind that you are working with electricity and some bad quality electrical hand tools can be dangerous and might just cause accidents or injuries.

Electrical hand tools certainly help most electrical work and maintenance easy to do. But you should also consider the danger of using these tools improperly. Safety should be a top priority. 

Follow instructions given in user manuals as it will help you come out with better results. You should also store your hand tools properly so they will not become a hazard.

Store them in places which will protect them from water and other factors that might cause inefficiency of the tool. Make sure that you are properly equipped and use the proper personal protective equipment when working with electricity. It is better to be safe than sorry.
